Adding scripts to Application menu

The adding scripts to application menu command simplifies the handling of frequently used scripts by making them directly accessible from the applications menu system. It may also be used to customize the application with personal scripts.

Adding scripts to the Mathematics Menu will also make them available in the Mathematics Tab and in the Calibration Wizard.

The adding scripts command is available via the options menu and the script explorer menu:

  • Select the Options menu and choose Add 'script' to Application Menu

or

  • Right-click a script in the script explorer and choose Add 'script' to Application Menu

The menu editor consists of three main fields, the menu options, the menu location and the menu entry visibility.

Menu Options

The menu options section of the dialog controls the display name of the script and the position of the new menu entry.

  • Name:
    The Edit-Box shows the initial name of the script to be added. If the name of the menu entry needs to be different from the original script name it can be changed here. The name change needs to be confirmed by pushing the
    Rename-Button. The original file name of the script will not be changed and is displayed in the lower part of the dialog.

  • Application Menu:
    All menus of the application are displayed in a tree-view. Initially the script will always be appended to the
    Scripting Menu. The position of the script to be added can simply be changed by drag and drop in the tree-view.

Menu Location

The menu location option controls the position of the menu entry.

  • Rename:
    Push the rename button after changing the menu entry name in the Name Edit-Box. The name in the tree-view will be updated.

  • Remove:
    Removes the selected script from the application menu.

  • Move up:
    Moves the position of the selected script upwards in the menu tree-view. This can also be achieved by using drag and drop in the tree-view.

  • Move down:
    Moves the position of the selected script downwards in the menu tree-view. This can also be achieved by using drag and drop in the tree-view.

Menu Entry Visibility

Controls the visibility settings of the menu entry.

  • Visible for me only
    The new menu entry is only visible for the user who added it.

  • Visible for all users
    All users are able to see the menu entry.

Properties of the new menu entry can always be changed later.

The properties of the newly added menu entry can always be changed later on by selecting the Edit 'script' Usage in Application Menu command in the Options or Script Explorer menu.
