RGB color model

The additive mixture of the three primary colors red, green and blue in different portions give a resulting color. Adding all colors together in equal portions creates white. That is, all visible wavelengths are transmitted back to the eye. Additive colors are used for lighting, video, and monitors. The following figure shows additive color mixing:
