Troubleshooting

Below you may read about potential errors and solutions. Just in case you need any further assistance, please contact your USB-Dongle update supplier for help.

Error during Hardware Configuration Update

The following error might be displayed during the hardware configuration update of your USB-Dongle:

This error can be caused by the following reasons:

  • The USB-Dongle hardware configuration update has already been installed by the update tool in a previous run. It can only be installed once! After successful installation it automatically becomes incompatible with your USB-Dongle.

  • The wrong or multiple USB-Dongle have been connected to the computer. This might happen in case you have multiple dongles you are working with.

  • The update supplier has provided you with a wrong update. In this case, please contact your supplier.

Error during License Update

The following error might be displayed during the license update of your USB-Dongle:

This error can be caused by the following reasons:

  • The wrong or multiple USB-Dongle have been connected to the computer. This might happen in case you have multiple dongles you are working with.

  • The update supplier has provided you with a wrong update. In this case, please contact your supplier.

The yellow Light on my USB-Dongle is not illuminated

In case the USB-Dongle is not working properly, this might have different reasons. Try the solutions described below in order of appearance:

 

Administrator Permission!

For some operations described below you might need administrative permission on your computer. In any case Windows will inform you in such case.

 

The USB-Dongle is connected to a USB-Hub

Sometimes USB-Hubs do not support the USB-dongles properly. In this case dongle is not detected correctly and the yellow light is not illuminated.

Solution:

Try to connect the USB-dongle to any other USB-port on your PC directly. In this case, the device manager detects new hardware attached to your PC. Please follow the steps described in the "Hardware Driver Installation" section below.

If that does not solve your problem, please proceed with the next solution.

The dongle driver is not installed properly

To solve that problem do the following:

  1. Open Windows Explorer

  2. Navigate to the installation directory of your software/product.
    Depending on your operating system this is typically "c:\Program Files\InstallationPathOfProduct"

  3. Open the "DongleDriver" sub-folder in the installation directory.

  4. Double click the SetupDrv.exe with the Left Mouse Button.
    Dongle drivers are now installed and the following message is shown:

     

The yellow light on the USB-Dongle should now be illuminated. If not, please follow the steps below to install the drivers from scratch.

Install USB-Dongle from Scratch

Although the USB-Dongle is directly connected to a USB-port of the PC and drivers have been installed the light is not illuminated. In this case the drivers need to be uninstalled and reinstalled.
Follow the steps below to do that.

Solution:

  1. Disconnect the USB-Dongle from your PC.

  2. Open the Windows Start Menu

  3. Type "cmd" into the text field and press the ENTER-Key.
    This opens a DOS shell command prompt.

  4. Navigate to the installation directory of your software/product using cd\ command:
    Type: cd\"c:\Program Files (x86)\InstallationPathOfProduct\DongleDriver" for 32bit software/product
    Type: cd\"c:\Program Files\InstallationPathOfProduct\DongleDriver" for 64bit software/product
    and press the ENTER-Key.

    NOTE: InstallationPathOfProduct needs to be replaced by the absolute path!
  5. Type: SetupDrv.exe /u and press the ENTER-Key.
    Dongle drivers are now uninstalled and the following message is shown:

  6. Click the OK Button.

  7. Now reboot your computer.

  8. After restart, open a command prompt again as described in steps 2. to 4.

  9. Type: SetupDrv.exe /r and press the ENTER-Key.
    Dongle drivers are now installed and the following message is shown:

Proceed with the "Hardware Driver Installation" steps now.
